I am finally learning to use HTML. It isn’t as hard as I thought, but I wish I’d learned it a long time ago.

I should have joined the computer club in high school, but it was all boys.

In college, the computer science lab smelled and was always strewn with gross food. Maybe if I had met Joe and Wes earlier, I could have learned to breathe through my mouth.

Did nerdy boys prevent me from learning? I don’t think they really did.

I can create links too. Here is a photo of me eating a McFlurry at a really fancy McDonald’s in London. They aren’t more civilized than Americans, but their fast food restaurants are way prettier.

I held my 7th monkey class this week.  We ate m&m’s and made monkeys.  Chelsea, a new student, was also an SF native, and said she had made a lot of dolls out of cloth when she was in high school.  I wish she’d brought them.  Jono and Teddy, returning students, almost completed their monkeys.  They are very dedicated monkey men.

My mom’s monkey is in the process of getting a wardrobe makeover.  She is thinking of making him pants so he doesn’t look so indecent.

My mom finally finished her sock monkey.  It is, of course, one of the prettiest ones.  She is super crafty even though she pretends like she’s not.  She’s the secret artist.

Recently I have become obsessed with succulent plants.  To share my love, I am (**GASP**) branching out from monkey-making and I’m going to teach a succulent terrarium making class.  Students will plant the succulents and design habitats for gardens gnomes, deer, and other creatures (plastic). I’ll provide all materials, all you have to do is come and dig in the dirt, or so to speak!

This class is part of Skillshare Night, the joint venture between Skillshare & Hub Bay Area. Skillshare Night brings Skillshare’s thriving community together in one of the most unique physical spaces in San Francisco – the co-working space Hub Soma – to share not only skills but also conversation. Skillshare Night runs from 7 PM to 9:30 PM, with classes from 7 PM to 9 PM and an amazing post-class “mixer” from 9 PM to 9:30 PM. During the latter, drinks & light bites will be provided and conversation around the Night’s learnings is (of course) highly encouraged!
